Paul Atkinson is the Senior Vice President, Marketing of
Amdocs Management Limited. Mr. Atkinson served on the board
of Solect in 1993 and joined as CEO in 1994 to direct Solect's
transition from a services-based company to a software solutions
organization. On April 6, 2000, Amdocs announced that it had
completed the acquisition of Solect Technology Group, which
now operates as a division of Amdocs. Shortly after the acquisition,
Mr. Atkinson was appointed to oversee worldwide marketing
for Amdocs, and leads a global team that manages all strategic
product development. Mr. Atkinson is considered an IP industry
visionary and has presented at many industry forums on emerging
mobile IP trends as well as the transition to 3G.
Mr. Atkinson has been immersed in the telco ISP area since
1993, and was directly involved in the development of some
of the earliest telco ISPs, including Telecommunications of
Jamaica in 1994. Mr. Atkinson has worked closely with industry
leaders in the IP services field, including Nokia and Telcordia
Technologies, and has contributed to research reports by well-known
analysts in the space. Prior to joining Amdocs' Solect division,
Mr. Atkinson was the President and Co-founder of Southwest
Sun, the independent sales organization of Sun Microsystems
in central Canada. At Southwest Sun, he was responsible for
growing Sun's sales revenue in Southern Ontario from under
$1 million to over $40 million. Mr. Atkinson serves on the
board of governors of the ITAC (Information Technology Association
of Canada). He also resides on the board of the Institute
for Enterprise Education and of S://Scape Communications Inc.
Mr. Atkinson is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.
